Webinar: Understanding and teaching critical thinking - a cognitive perspective Event

This event will take place between 4:00pm and 5:00pm on 29/04/2021

Free live webinar for NACE members

Presented by Dr Lauren Bellaera, The Brilliant Club

Critical thinking is one of the top goals of education and, arguably now more than ever, it is crucial that young people can think critically. This talk will discuss how educators understand and teach critical thinking, and suggest meta-cognitive strategies to support the development of these higher-order skills. Dr Lauren Bellaera will share findings from her recent study, which examined how educational practitioners and academics define and teach critical thinking. Using this research, Lauren will discuss promising learning strategies for the teaching of critical thinking skills. She will also draw upon The Brilliant Club’s practical experiences of delivering academic interventions to school pupils across the UK and how you can get involved moving forward.

Please note: places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. In some instances NACE may limit the number of participants per school, in order to allow as many schools as possible to access the session.
