    Register your ECT

    Register an ECT for Entitlement 

    The Induction Tutor should become familiar with all the guidance provided via this webpage to lead the registration process.

    Registration for September 2026 opens from June the 15th 2026. The DfE will notify you when this service is open to your school. 

    Register Early Career Teachers (RECT) has replaced "Manage Training for Early Career Teachers".

    To use this service you will need a DfE sign in account. If you do not have a DfE Sign in account, create one here. 

    Step 1: Register your Early Career Teachers here: (RECT)

    Before you do this, ensure you have the following information: 

    • Full name
    • TRN (if unavailable, use National Insurance number) 
    • Date of Birth
    • Email address (can be updated to a school email address at a later point)
    • Start date at your school as an ECT
    • Working pattern (full or part-time)
    • Appropriate Body (Exceed Teaching School Hub)
    • Training Programme (School led or Provider led)
    • Delivery Partner (Exceed Teaching School Hub)
    • Have Mentor details to hand 

    Assign a Mentor 

    Ensure your ECT is registered first, before you assign a Mentor. You will be given the option to assign a new Mentor or select an existing one. RECT will notify you if Mentors are eligible for training. 

    You will need:

    • Full name
    • TRN
    • Date of Birth
    • Email address 

    Step 2: Appoint Exceed Teaching School Hub as your Appropriate Body

    • If your school is new to ECT Manager, register here. 
    • If your school is an existing user of ECT Manager, login here. 

    You must complete Step 1 and 2 to ensure ECTs induction can commence and funding is awarded.

    Step 3: Ensure Induction Tutors and Headteachers are familiar with the entitlement as outlined in Induction of early career teachers (England): Statutory guidance

    Additional uses of Registering Early Career Teachers (RECT)

    • You can use this service to manage and update existing ECTs and Mentors. 

    • Please use this service to notify the DfE of any ECTs or Mentors permanently leaving your school during induction. You must also notify us via ect@exceedacademiestrust.co.uk
