The event is for Subject Leaders of Geography in primary schools. The event will explore three strands:

1. Effective teaching of geography

2. Subject leadership

3. Subject knowledge development

Jon Cannell from the Geographical Association will lead the network sessions. The first session will start by exploring what primary school geography looks like, from what constitutes the subject’s substantive knowledge through to the overarching geographical concepts that should be included across every Scheme of Work. Participants will be asked to reflect on the subject’s current provision within their schools and what guidance and support will enable this to be enhanced. This will, in part, inform the content of subsequent meetings.

THIS EVENT IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE TO SCHOOL AS EXCEED TEACHING SCHOOL HUB WILL FUND THE FACILITATION. PLEASE ENSURE YOU ATTEND THE EVENT ONCE YOU BOOK. NON-ATTENDANCE OR CANCELLATION WITHIN 3 DAYS OF THE EVENT  WILL RESULT IN A £25 CHARGE PER PARTICIPANT.
