Hello,

We hope you have all enjoyed a restful half-term, we are delighted that the delivery of our National Programmes is successfully underway and would like to share with you a few updates and what our participants think about delivery so far.

Early Career Teacher Programme:

It has been a fantastic start to ECT Induction, with Early Career Teachers and mentors accessing face-to-face conferences. There was a real buzz at all the events, and we received some fantastic feedback:

  • 99% of ECTs rated the delivery and subject knowledge of facilitators as Excellent or Good
  • 98% of Mentors rated the delivery and subject knowledge of facilitators as Excellent or Good

We have been delighted by this response and how successful the conferences have been, here's what some of our ECTs and Mentors said:

'Conferences were delivered in a fun and friendly manner' - 'it was lovely being able to network and share experiences'

ECTs felt that they were 'listened to' and that they were 'given expert advice'

Another ECT stated that 'self-reflection made me feel extra prepared for the year ahead', which is exactly how we want all of our participants to feel!

NPQs:

We have had a very positive start for our new October 2022 cohort. Attendance and engagement were excellent. New participants are all enthusiastic and highly motivated to get started.

  •  99% of participants over all programmes rated delivery and subject knowledge of facilitators as Excellent or Good

‘I feel so motivated and so clear about the course and how to learn best.’

‘Having a clear idea of what the course entails and having a rich discussion around how children and adults learn’  (NPQLTD)

‘Working with others to understand how to apply the key principles to a given scenario and hearing everyone’s inputs’  (NPQLL)

Our current NPQ participants value the online training they receive, with virtual delivery over all programmes rated as 97% Excellent or Good. Here's what our participants say:

‘‘ Really value opportunities to Share and hear practical examples of where colleagues have applied the NPQH modules in day to day work.’

‘Opportunity to discuss issues with other leaders and have a non-judgemental sounding board. Also, great to hear other schools' areas for development and reflect on prevention strategies’ (NPQSL)

Appropriate Body:

Exceed Teaching School Hub, led by Copthorne Primary School and Exceed Academies Trust, has a leading role in signposting and delivering teacher development support to all 215 Bradford schools and our partners in other regions wishing to access support from Exceed Teaching School Hub.

The Hub helps to fulfil one of Exceed Academies Trust's ethical goals: to contribute to system-wide improvements in education.

Designated by the Department for Education (DfE) in February 2020, Exceed Teaching School Hub’s core functions support schools and trusts to invest in their workforce to grow, recruit, develop and retain the very best teachers, support staff and leaders. We will achieve this through a place-based approach to signposting and delivering high-quality progressive teacher development programmes that complement the internal support provided by schools and trusts. Our vision acknowledges teacher and leadership development are two of the most important forms of school improvement. We will achieve this by enhancing partnership working with schools, trusts and high-quality providers; improving the communication of opportunities with the workforce; introducing new professional learning opportunities; supporting teachers and leaders to make informed choices when selecting continuous professional development (CPD) and support, and ensuring that no school is left behind.

Find out more about our vision, strategies and priorities here.
