Dear Colleagues,

We hope this message finds you well as we navigate through the busy half-term and approach the festive season. We are pleased to share updates and highlights from our recent initiatives and important reminders for the upcoming weeks.

Programme Highlights from Last Half Term:

Early Career Framework (ECF) and NPQ Specialist and Leadership Programmes: We had a remarkable start to the term with the successful delivery of several conferences, engaging 750 Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and their mentors. Additionally, we launched nine NPQ programmes, including the new NPQ for Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCo), benefiting educators and leaders throughout the region.

What Participants Are Saying:

Early Career Framework (ECF):

97% of participants rated the delivery as Excellent or Good.

Feedback highlights:

  • "The speakers were passionate, and the conference provided great opportunities to network and collaborate with other ECTs."
  • "Lots of discussion in a supportive environment."
  • "The delivery was very clear, with detailed explanations. I appreciated the links made to Special Needs (SEND), which were particularly helpful for my role as a special needs teacher."

Mentors:

98% of newly recruited mentors rated their first conference as Excellent or Good.

Feedback highlights:

  • "The conference effectively broke down deliberate practice into manageable steps, with opportunities to practice at each stage. I found the scripting and delivery practice very valuable."

National Professional Qualifications (NPQs):

100% of participants rated the facilitators’ subject knowledge and responsiveness as Good or Excellent.

Feedback highlights:

  • “The facilitators were approachable, shared their experiences, and encouraged participant discussions. The information provided was thorough but not overwhelming.” – NPQH
  • “Facilitators explained the content clearly and were supportive throughout.” – NPQLL
  • “The facilitator was well-versed in course logistics and delivered content comprehensively.” – NPQLTD

Exceed Teaching School Hub, led byHarden Primary School and Exceed Academies Trust, has a leading role in signposting and delivering teacher development support to all 215 Bradford schools and our partners in other regions wishing to access support from Exceed Teaching School Hub.

The Hub helps to fulfil one of Exceed Academies Trust's ethical goals: to contribute to system-wide improvements in education.

Designated by the Department for Education (DfE) in February 2020, Exceed Teaching School Hub’s core functions support schools and trusts to invest in their workforce to grow, recruit, develop and retain the very best teachers, support staff and leaders. We will achieve this through a place-based approach to signposting and delivering high-quality progressive teacher development programmes that complement the internal support provided by schools and trusts. Our vision acknowledges teacher and leadership development are two of the most important forms of school improvement. We will achieve this by enhancing partnership working with schools, trusts and high-quality providers; improving the communication of opportunities with the workforce; introducing new professional learning opportunities; supporting teachers and leaders to make informed choices when selecting continuous professional development (CPD) and support, and ensuring that no school is left behind.
