Initial teacher training (ITT)

Three core routes into teaching

The DfE states that all teacher training leading to qualified teacher status (QTS) should sit within three core routes into teaching from September 2024:

  • Postgraduate fee-funded
  • Undergraduate fee-funded
  • Postgraduate employment-based

ITT Partnerships in Bradford 2023-2024

Each partnership is made between an accredited provider and partner organisations.  The accredited provider is ultimately responsible for all elements and quality of the ITT programme.

 

Priestley Partnership

We offer both salaried and unsalaried positions in our six primary schools in Bradford. We offer both 3-7 and 5-11 routes.

East One Partnership

Blessed Christopher Wharton Catholic Academy Trust ITT

We offer students the chance to study at Leeds Trinity University whilst completing placements in some of our 17 Catholic primary schools around Bradford and Keighley.

Co-op Academies

Co-op Academies Trust believes in changing the lives of young people through empowering teachers and young people to work together for a better education and a better community.

The Trust brings together expertise from across Primary, Secondary, Special and Further Education in an aim to promote excellence in all aspects of education.

We provide practical training, in and outside of the classroom. Trainee teacher development is supported during the ITT year through training, classroom experience, professional dialogue and self-reflection.

At BDAT we have partnered with a carefully selected, highly successful and committed provider in GORSE SCITT who share our ethos and will provide you with a great teacher training experience.
