The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022: celebration resources

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is coming up, and the whole country will be celebrating the Queen’s historic 70-year reign. Each child in a state-funded primary school will be given their own free storybook before the end of term, but there are other opportunities for schools to get involved:

  • The Royal Collection Trust (RCT) have opportunities for schools to visit either Windsor Castle or The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace, and other visits for different age groups. Find out what’s available
  • Explore the Queen’s Jubilee website, Created by DK Books. You will find free audio recordings of ‘Queen Elizabeth: a Platinum Jubilee Celebration’; a commemorative book written in collaboration with royal experts and historians. There are also links to other Jubilee resources and videos.
  • If your students enjoy a creative challenge, they may like to design a Jubilee Crown. Find out about the challenge and how to enter from Angellica Bell.
  • Royal Reading Challenge: we encourage students aged 5-14 to enter this reading competition – they will be challenged to read as much as they can during the weeks surrounding the Jubilee. Find out more and register your school

Please do share photos of your celebrations via Twitter and Instagram, and don’t forget to tag @educationgovuk and use the hashtags #PlatinumJubilee #HM70
